Under the Big Blue Sky features work from Robert Hightower and Caleb Mulholland. Both artists will be exhibiting two-dimensional paintings and three-dimensional mixed media pieces. Join us for an opening reception for this show from 6-9 pm on Saturday, April 29.

Robert Hightower, an Atlanta native, will be displaying pieces from his most recent body of work, The Apocalypse Simulacra, which is an immersive gallery installation depicting a visual narrative of the twilight of humanity, at the fulcrum of our own extinction.

Hightower received his BFA in sculpture from the University of Georgia. After graduating, he moved to New York City and participated in The Bronx Museum of the Art’s AIM Fellowship (Artist In the Marketplace). While in New York, his interests expanded to include art installation and the creation of spaces, and he has since designed and built many unique projects throughout the United States.

Pop-surrealist Caleb Mulholland is a multi-faceted, Nashville-based artist utilizing modern contemporary media to explore iconic imagery. Mulholland, a self-taught artist, creates narrative-based works that search for the meaning of life by exploring pop culture. Mulholland has racked up an impressive catalog of shows over the last few years, including exhibiting at Art Basel Miami, the Art of Banksy exhibit in Chicago, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, in Le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, as well as solo exhibitions throughout the United States. Along the way, he has found an established base of collectors and support.

In addition to pop iconography, Mulholland is influenced by divine imagery, music, and self-exploration. He believes expressing oneself creatively is the pinnacle of human divinity on earth, and he hopes his art inspires others to express themselves as creators.

Modfellows is pleased to invite you to check out this excellent show at our opening night preview from 6 – 9 pm on Saturday, April 29.
